But there's one thing that I'm missing: motivation to workout. I wish I could say that I exhausted myself from all the working out that I did before the wedding, but that would be a big {fat} lie. I did take a little bit of a break from The Bar Method, but I'm back to it this week. I've been working out since I got married, but not the extent that I should be to continue losing weight and the motivation to actually get up and go is just not there.
Before I got married, what motivated me to get up and workout was that BWD {beautiful, white, dress}. I wanted to look and feel my best on my wedding day, and I did. But lately, when I don't feel like running, I have nothing to think about that gets me up and going. Now I see how newlyweds gain weight their first year of marriage.
But I won't let that be me. I'm mixing things up here at the casa. I've recruited a running buddy: my husband. Our goal is to run at least twice a week together and I've been toying around with the idea of signing up for a 1/2 marathon at the end of the October. I've also ordered Turbo Fire from Beachbody because I've heard so many great things about it and it looks FUN! I was going to start the 60 day Insanity program {which I bought about a year ago}, but one of my bridesmaids had asked to borrow it so I'm going to let her try it out. I also think it's time for some new workout apparel. Maybe a trip to lululemon is in my near future :-)
I'll give you motivation on why to work out: Heart disease, high cholesterol/clog arteries, cellulite, Enjoying taking pictures because you look nice, remember your 20's as a healthy time in life, clothing shopping is more fun when you are fit...I can go on forever....:-) People say they are trying to look good for their wedding..I say we should try to look good for our life...:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Elvi :-) I LOVED reading this this morning! Made me even more pumped to get a good cardio workout in today.
ReplyDeleteGood for you! Keep us updated on how you like TurboFire. I've never heard of it sounds INTENSE!

Thanks Kristin! I'm hoping to get turbofire by tomorrow :-) So that I can try it out this weekend. I'll definitely let you know how it is.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear that you're blissfully happy. Contentment does lead to weight gain - for some people, like me! Lovely wedding photo...
